Yesterday's 24-Hour Extra Life WvWvW Marathon

Now that yesterday's cornucopia of Extra Life events have wrapped up and I've had some time to recuperate, I wanted to take a moment to comment on the one in particular in which I was involved.

(As an aside, I was going to post this as a blog entry in the Library, but I don't seem to have an option to do so.  Is that a rank-based feature or am I missing something?  If someone could clue me in, it'd be much appreciated.)

Before anything else I'd like to thank everyone who hosted and participated in events yesterday.  Although I spent most (okay, all) of the day in WvWvW, I know there were a lot of PvE and crafting activites going on for the cause as well.  Having only been a member of Gaiscioch for a few weeks, this was my first major event with you guys and it was impressive.

That having been said, my entire reason for posting this is that a little recognition is in order.
Having played from ~6am Central (4am PST) to just after the end of the event at 2am Central (12am CST), I had the chance to see a lot of players put in a LOT of work to gain and maintain ground in the Borderlands.
Several familiar faces hung in there for the long-haul, while others contributed what they could (unfortunately some were sidelined due to crazy queue times and the ever-present rendering issues).  Nobody was slacking off.

While everyone did their part, 3 folks in particular stood out and I want to make sure they get some props for their outstanding effort.

First, our boy Kooz.
He was the first name I saw when I hopped into Green Borderlands early yesterday morning, and I spent a couple of hours partied with him while he streamed the event on twitch.tv.  Kooz is well-known as an affable event host, but in his dedication to livestreaming this event all day long he really stepped up the game.
Thanks for hanging in there, being such a good sport, and providing a means for people who couldn't participate to keep informed and entertained!

Second, Grodiin.
Grodiin hosted a couple of events of his own, in addition to getting sweet-talked into de facto leader duty several other times throughout the day: opportunities which he invariably took in stride, stepping up to the plate to keep our zerg a-rollin'.  Notably, he pulled through in the clutch when Prissy was sidelined from her scheduled event due to a terribly-timed server disconnect that dumped her back in queue for 2 hours.
This is the first time I've run in any of Grodiin's events, and I was very impressed.  You can't go wrong following the jumping charr.  ;)

Lastly, Pookha.
Pooks did a tremendous job rallying the troops, and keeping us moving forward during the 24-hour marathon.  He was up and on the front lines first thing yesterday morning, and he was still there then the clock struck midnight.  Between his often-unorthodox attack strategies and (more or less) ever-improving directional sense, he helped the GSCH zerg secure the entire Northern portion of our borderland several times over.  We gave the competition a stern poke in the eye and they just kept coming back for more...and when there's poking to be done, Pookha just keeps on pokin'!  Uh.  Metaphorically.

Good job and congratulations to everyone who participated in this epic event for such a worthy cause.  Don't think that because I didn't call you out here you aren't appreciated - these are simply the 3 with whom I had by far the most interaction yesterday and whose contributions I think went well above what would've been expected by anyone.
Thanks to all for such great work being done, both on the battlefield and in the spirit of charity.

(Also, special honorable mention goes out to Pookha DJ, or esteemed beat master for the day.  He may be small and doesn't say much, but that little dude sure knows how to keep the jams flowin'.  Even if he is prone to spinning a bit too much Carly Rae Jepsen.)  :)

P.S. - If you ran with someone I didn't or feel somebody I failed to mention deserves a shout-out as well, please add them!  This thread isn't just about these 3 guys, but about everyone who participated yesterday.

It was a blast. I was able to play first on my warrior, then switched to my thief (Ohmnom Nom Nom) for some XP. The damage from cluster bomb is fun. Tough fights throughout the day.

And to think we were only 5% away from dropping the reinforced wall of a fully upgraded tower with only 8 people and 2 catas. Stupid npc sentries giving away our position. Also Pookha proved that if you just keep repeating the order people eventually actually listen rather than just following the zerg. "Go Left! Go Left! Go Left!...Go Left!"

Had an awesome time Friday evening through to Saturday evening, when I had to go out to dinner. Thanks to all of you guys for organizing and running the assaults. Also, a shout out to Pookah DJ, he was boss!
