Keep an eye open for a potential exploit in the borderland map

First off, I reported this as a exploit bug via the Anet bug report feature. I tried to explain best I could and gave a screenshot of the spot I saw this occuring. I did not and will not post this to the official forums. I wanted to give our WvW raid leaders a heads up though.

Last night we were fighting in the blue borderland and we had Garrison. Swords popped up on the water gate down on the south-southwest of garrison and I headed over there with my elementalist. Sure enough, Sorrow's Furnace was down there banging on the gate. I got up on the wall to try and defend. However, next thing I know I have a SF guy beating on me, melee range, up on the wall with me. We had a few there and I think the guy got downed or knocked off. But the gate was still up so I was curious how he had gotten up there. We'd held garrison for quite a while so I thought it unlikely that they had a mesmer hidden up there for portals but maybe. But then I noticed something. A small handful of SF guys were on the ledge facing the lake there outside the gate and they started jumping west along the cliff face. And they were trying really hard to jump up on the sloped wall there, near our stairs that lead up to the gate wall. Well a few of us saw them and were trying to hit them with ranged so they did not have any luck getting more in.

This morning I tried to reproduce the steps to bypass the gate (we owned the garrison so I was not trying to do it while another team held it). I was unable to make the jump(s) needed but I'm not too good at jumping puzzles so it may be my skill. I wanted to make sure I wasn't jumping to conclusions (no pun intended) before filing a report. But I went ahead and filed the report with Anet though so they can check it out.

Again, I did not see them successfully make the jumps. But they were for sure inside the outters and roaming and hitting defenders. And it looked very suspicious. Maye  we should have quit trying to knock them back and let one jump on up. I have a screenshot and should have taken more I suppose. I think Izzy was up there defending too, not sure if she saw the same thing I did.

I know that they used the flying exploit last night when we were all there. One moment we had the Orb secured inside our Garrison, the next someone had taken it, and in less than 15 seconds had put it in AB that was being held at the time by SF.

I was sitting in LA earlier and reading the map chat. It's bad, I know. Are people blaming GSCH for hacks and stuff? I know they were talking about Commanders. I can't remember what all was said and they never said any names that I saw or guilds but I remember comments about leading people around to do vistas and jumping puzzles. Someone also mentioned running their people off cliffs and I had thought it was kind of a running joke cause Fog had jumped off a cliff or something once and people followed? There was another mention of people boycotting something. I don't think I was getting all of the conversation and I had a hard time following the conversation cause they didnt mention any guild names or people. Just something or someone named FL. Sometimes I think people take their gaming too seriously. It is a game and it is supposed to be fun. I can't wait for the new game kinks to be worked out. Course, almost every game I've played I have seen people complaining about other guilds and people for some reason or another. I just don't like seeing someone try and turn others against us for no reason.

Earlier today someone asked me if there was any way, via jumping or another (legal, not exploiting) method to gain access to keeps and castles without bringing down walls or doors. I've told him I did not know of any ways, but I remember thinking to myself there could be ways, and that would be ok as long as everyone could use it equally and within the boundaries of the normal skills given to characters in the game (including the ability to jump. hey! that's new! how many GW1 players would be dying just for the incredible power of jumping!!). So, I would not be too quick to think a jumping way up the outer walls would be an exploit, even less if the said jumping way was a difficult one, and rather easily stoppered with a well placed siege weapon. But these are only my thoughts. But what Desidaria said is pretty worrying. Gaiscioch has a name, and what a great name it is, to care for. And we all should be very careful in taking care of this name. If one or two people are accusing Gaiscioch of cheating with no proof, this is pretty normal (but maybe we should be very aware about the possibility of having one or more exploiters among our new members. It's a normal risk of a growing guild). But if these accusations become more widespread, something may have to be done to care for our name. Fogh and all the elders and officers take great pains to make Gaiscioch a fair, honorable and dependable guild for Game Developers and Players alike, and this reputation is a treasure for all of us. If Foghlada is not aware of these talks on channels, maybe you should contact him or one of our elders about it, Desidaria. And thanks for sharing your concerns with us.

If a player is able to enter an enemy keep without first destroying a door or wall to gain access it is considered an exploit and needs to be reported to exploits@arena.net ANet is aware of the flying hacks and are banning accounts daily but if you are able to target them/report them it would help them a lot. I've not seen anyone badmouth GSCH in WvW as yet but I am on at a much different time than everyone else. [FL] is a guild Desidaria, they are one of the more organized guilds in WvW and they are quite good at trolling anyone they deem a threat (Including guilds on their own server). That being said, [FL] are a good guild at the core, I tend to roam with a few of their members when I'm online (1am-6amPDT) and they are great fun in a football hooligan kind of way.

Commanders are just getting complained at in general a lot right now. Apparently the commander icon is an iWin button, and if the entire map hasn't flipped in 30 minutes, it's the commander's fault.

Ah, ok. I have been in a few WvW and witnessed some of the chatter there as well. The only thing I've seen personally pointed at our guild is somebody complaining that things were falling while we sit in the main area getting all our people organized and then complaining when they saw some of the people in our group stopping for a vista. And of course complaining when Fog did not do what they wanted him to do. No matter what game I have been on people always seem to get really worked up over battlegrounds/pvp/WvW. I always loved going into Alterac Valley in WOW and 10 seconds into it you have 10 different people telling you to go different ways and then saying we have already lost cause we weren't listening and nothing had been taken on either side yet. Oh and I know on the forums some other servers were accusing our entire server of hacking and they named our guild as one of the one they witnessed but I lost track of the threads and I'm not sure what ever came of it. Give it a few months and the new game smell will wear off and things will settle down I'm sure.

I'm glad that none of our guild are making public accusations on the official forums. If you see public accusations against us, simply report the post to the moderators as harassment and kindly direct them to report the accusation with proof to exploits@arena.net By reporting the post to the moderators, they will remove the post and possibly the entire thread.
