Why do Strike Missions anyway?

First of all, according to wiki, Strike Missions are 10 player squad-based PvE instances, usually consisting of a boss battle, that serve as a game experience between open world and raid difficulty designed for level 80 characters.

Normal difficulty Strike Missions are intended to be an entry point into the world of 10-player content in Guild Wars 2. These instances are designed to be something you can tackle alongside both close friends and new allies, pitting you and nine others against jazzed-up, remixed versions of bosses from the Living World and expansions.

We, in the Gaiscioch family, are fortunate to have event leaders willing to guide others into the fun world of strikes and, of course, other good stuff.

In End of Dragons expansion, we have:

1. Aetherblade Hideout

2. Xunlai Jade Junkyard

3. Kaineng Overlook

4. Harvest Temple

There are other strike missions in Ice Brood Saga and in Living world Season 1, we have one called Old Lion’s Court.

Question:  Why do Strike Missions anyway?

Answer:  They are worth playing for the fun of it and maybe because there is some really good loot and collection things there.

If you, like me, play GW2 for the fun of playing MMORPG games, and in playing the game(s), also meet and chat with folks from all over the world. Where else do you get that kind of opportunity and have a great time increasing your knowledge of game play?  Yes, strike missions are more challenging than “regular” PvE, but that is where the fun is after all.

We get together every Friday with Mika, who hosts the event, at 12:00 pm PST or 3:00 pm EST.  Come with us and have a blast.

P.S. Here is a link that is quite informative about strikes.  Just right click and tap "open link" Strike Missions and good stuff .    Note, that this is not meant to be a promotion of the web site.

Just relating to your point about meeting people from all over I joined an advertised training run the other evening, being led by a lady from New Zealand. She was an excellent teacher and led us through 4 of the EoD strike missions with clear explanations of mechanics  and goals. I have had the same experience in the past with other Gaiscioch strike training. Definitely recommend trying it out, but do a little research first to make sure your build is going to be effective.

I definitely recommend joining Mika's event if you can make the time work for you.
