looking for a good necromancer build

Here's what I'm currently experimenting with and I'm loving it so far. If I was doing WvW I'd probably switch some things around. Basically an ideal situation is I gather up as many mobs as possible then drop my wells and marks like nobody's business. If my health starts getting low I pop into death shroud and fire off life transfer. This is how combat usually goes for me. Me: *giggle* *tag mob* *tag mob* *tag mob* *tab mob* *tag mob* *tag mob* Me: *cackle* *drop well* *drop well* *drop well* *white and green numbers fill the screen* Me: "teeeheeeheeeeeeeee!!!" *drop mark* *drop mark* *drop mark* *drop mark* *even MORE white and green numbers fill the screen* Me: *health starts dropping* *death shroud* *life transfer* *CACKLE MANIACALLY* *EVEN MORE WHITE AND GREEN NUMBERS FILL THE SCREEN* Me: *drop more marks and wells if things aren't dead while continuing to laugh like a lunatic* If there's just one mob left, or there's only one mob nearby to kill, I switch to dagger and rip it apart quickly before I search for another group of mobs to fill me full of glee. Your experiences may vary. Most notably there will be less green spam if you don't have other people/pets/NPCs around you to heal. Still lots of fun white numbers blocking your view though. I have to admit however that I'm betting things aren't dying faster than other builds or classes would take things down. Just that using this build makes you feel like... a lunatic or something with all those numbers flying around you with you rarely ever dying. It's just so fun!

The elite could just as easily be plague or flesh golem. I wear a full set of Grenth's 42k karma armor with the original Grenth runes still socketed. It has a lot of toughness, but it isn't a min-max suit. I like a mix of power, precision, condition dmg, and vitality. The only stat I'm not buffing is healing, but with Death Shroud and the lifestealing from my wells to supplement Consume Conditions, I survive.

This is the one I like for pve for my necro (also works very nice for spvp so I'm told). I swap corrupt boon for other utility skills when needed like corrosive cloud, signet of locust, well of corruption, or well of power. I've found well of power is really nice for AC for the spider boss or necro mobs to make everybody's life easier while the plague signet is on cd. http://www.gw2build.com/builds/bleed-clerk-condition-spvp-4974.html

@Kale: I think that's probably what I would change mine to in WvW so that I could place my wells from walls and stuff. In PvE though since I'm tankish I figure I'll be in the middle of mobs so I don't need to ground target my wells. Instead I devoted those points into making Deathshroud a bit more powerful to aid in staying alive and benefiting party members. In Death magic I've debated between Greater Marks and Ritual of Protection. For my build I went with Ritual of Protection so that I have Protection up on myself and friendlies for 12+ seconds. Again in WvW I'd probably change my loadout and go with Greater Marks. Although it would be fun to give my build a try or two in WvW to see how long I can survive in a zerg.. lol. The Elite I change around depending on the situation. Usually when I'm solo or duo I'll use the giant meat bag to be cannon fodder. If I'm doing events I'm experimenting with Plague and Lich Form. I still need to play with them more to get a feel of which I like.

It will all be about your preferred gamestyle of play. My suggestion to you is to try a little bit in each area until you find what fits for you. As this may or may not exactly help you decide how you want to play, do you want to cast from a far and send in your minions and dot? Do you want to get in your face and go after the mobs? Support? I just hit lvl 80 not long ago and I am still looking at diffferent builds. I have been used to pets so that is the route I went but I am experimenting with others as well. There are seveal options out there and so go out and see what works best for you. Will see you in game.

I made some changes, this is what I run: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fQAQNAW4YjQaJ7Vaaa87JApHN/81QKuV3IFEPMA;TgAgyCuoay0koJbTumkNB I didn't include Sigils for weapons, because I haven't completely finished my exotic set and reskinnings, but as is, in WvW, I melt zergs and clear keep walls with ease. I leveled with that build since release (mostly, been refining it), and have 714 hours into that particular character. I swap out Signet of Locust as needed, that's my swap utility. My most common go-to swap is Well of Power. Also in PVE, I will swap the Signet and Well of Corruption for Blood is Power and Epidemic. Or, if I really want to melt some faces in WvW, especially at a Keep where I can drop combat easily, I will swap in and out of those utility combo's, as well.
