Cead Mile Failte!
My favorite time of year has arrived. Bring out the barbeques, swim trunks, steaks and beers. Summer is in full swing! The real reason why I love July is, this is the one month of the year I get to spend with my daughter. That said, I will be taking this year easy in the gaming world and will be passing off some of my events to others that are willing to run them while my daughter is here.
Family is important. My life has been a huge lesson in that. Being the central part of my daughter's life for 5 years and having that loving and compassionate child moved a thousand miles away really humbles you. It make you realize both how much of a hold family has on you but also how it endures all. The good times, the bad times, even distance doesn't break the bonds of family.
This type of bond is what I hope to be able to mimic within our community. I know it's a long shot but I already feel it forming within many of us. We came together as strangers in the world and over time friendships are born. Let summertime remind you of the finer points of family and what it truly means to be in a functional loving family. I know real world families don't always work out as well as we'd like, but at least this virtual family is on the right foot. Let's make this something we can all be proud to be a part of. I encourage you all to embrace your families. Whether it's your in game family or real life family.

New Summit Format
As discussed at last month's Gaiscioch Family Summit, we have decided to make the summit meetings quarterly to give a wider scope of what's going on within our community. Therefor our new schedule will be.
- Q1 Summit: February
- Q2 Summit: May
- Q3 Summit: August
- Q4 Summit: State of the Family - November
PAX West: Year 15 Celebration
Come visit us in Seattle, Washington on September 4th at 7PM PT for our 15th year celebration at Fado's Irish Pub. For the past 6 years we've all converged on Seattle for PAX West and celebrated our birthday while we're there. This year marks our 15th year of Gaiscioch and also marks the first year we will be heading to PAX as a recognized member of the press. Come join us for drinks, food, and conversation.

10 Epic Games To Support Charity
Welcome to the 5th year of our participation in the Extra Life Charity Event! As many of you know Gaiscioch is a large supporter of children's charities. The Extra Life event was our first event we began participating in back in RIFT (2011) who first introduced us to the event. Since then we have raised over $27,000 for children's charities. We are looking to add another $5,000 to that this year.
To assist in our goal every $100 donation will get a quarter page ad in Gaiscioch Magazine, $250 for a half page, and $500 for a full page ad. These can promote whatever they like and will be a token of our appreciation for their support.

After last year’s success turning this into a game roundup of 12 epic games, we've modified the formula to highlight 10 games we feel deserve a bit of the spotlight. The games we chose are entertaining for the audience and draw a crowd of viewers. This year I've brought back some of our best performers and plan to lace it with some new titles. Hopefully at least one exclusive first look opportunity. As we get closer to go time I'll announce the remaining slots.
Our goal is to get a high viewership to help contribute to the cause. You can help us by tuning in to the stream even if you have it muted. The higher our count of viewers is the higher up the list we are.
In addition we will be giving away games and prizes throughout the day on the stream so be sure to tune in!

In addition I am planning to get a full lineup of events scheduled for as many of our social adventures and chapters as I can. If you would like to help lead festivities let me know. This is one of those Calling All Cars moments in our year and we want this to be big.
Gaiscioch Family Promotions:
I wanted to take a moment to say congratulations to a few members this month for accepting their next credo and stepping into a new role in our family.
War Council (Tiarna)
The War Council is comprised of members who have stepped up to lead events and activities for the family. They have proven themselves on the battlefield and have collected 25 signatures of approval from their followers. They have accepted the Mark of Servitude credo and understand that Leadership is not a position of power, it is a position of service. They have committed themselves to hosting fun and friendly events for the community at large.

Guardians (Seaimpín)
The Gaiscioch Family Guardians are an advanced part of the Veteran Members group and serve as the front line of our family. They help newer members learn about the family, our website, and our belief system. They occasionally will need to help get conversations back on track, or report misdoing's to the family elders. They act as advisors, guidance providers, and overall protectors of the family name. By this time a member should be involved in the family for more than 6 months and has been an active attendee in family events. For those who prefer fellowship over leadership this is the last stop on the family tree. Members must prove their leadership ability to progress to the Leadership ranks through the accumulation of both Valor Points (Earned through leading events.) as well as earning Tokens of Valor from lower ranked members of the family.

Veteran Members have proven their devotion to the family by participating in events and contributing to the family's success. They have been active more than 90 days and have continued to be contributing members to the family.

Great Tyrian Adventure Season 4?
I've been playing with the idea of running a Great Tyrian Adventure season 4 this fall and am wondering how many of you would attend and help make it impactful in the world. I wanted to get some collaboration with you guys about it come up with some creative ideas that would serve a few purposes:
- Introduce people to GSCH and what we do
- Entertain people for 2 hours
- Fill people's bags with bountiful loot
- Provide an entertaining livestream
Goals:
- Provide a Structured event people want to attend
- Provide Rewards for Attending to build repeat attendees
- Draw more than 100 people to each event.
With that in mind we need to think of what activities can house than many people successfully and most important leave people with a sense of epic enjoyment.
Now, I posted a note about this on the SOR site about a week ago and last time I checked only a handful of people actually saw it and read the post. No responses to date. So I'm wondering just how much interest is actually out there in seeing this come to life. Should we do another Great Tyrian Adventure? Would you attend? Big News out of E3
For those of you who missed it Matt Firor dropped some big news at E3 this year. He spoke of their upcoming content including housing and more content on the way. The big news however was One Tamriel, that takes a page out of RIFT’s book and allows players of any level or faction play together. A new bolstering system will match player levels to content levels and the walls between the 3 factions will fall in PvE allowing Aldmeri to play with Ebonheart seamlessly. Black Desert Online Moving Ahead
Over the past month I've passed the torch of leadership to Ludoki who has been running things phenomenally. The officers have all rallied together and got us started on the node war activities and helped further our alliance with Relic.
If you've taken a break and are thinking of making a return or you decided to play with another guild for a bit, remember, once family always family. We are here for you if ya need us. Come say hi, there's lots of stuff going on these days.

Riders of Icarus Kickoff
Here we go! This week Riders of Icarus launches into early access for those who purchased founders packs. We will be off to the races trying to level the guild fast enough so that we don't cap the guild. The devs have been adamantly working on solutions to help fix the problems we were having with leveling in beta. So the formula will likely be changed. I will be trying to build a new guide asap so we know what we need to do to level up the guild. Once we get GSCH to level 3 we will shift focus to the 2 GSCH alt guilds. Once all three are level 3 we will form the GSCH Alliance and be able to house 3 times the population we would have with 1 GSCH.
