Smol Lizards, Big Lizards, And Bears Oh My!

// Mission Log
// UDA Mission Omphalos: Expedition
//

The crew deployed to scan some potential landing zones. After establishing a temporary shelter, we set out for the scan locations. The planet Styx wasn't going to make it easy.

Our first scan location was overrun with crocodiles, including one particularly nasty specimen - Broken Tooth. Target was eliminated with about a half a quiver of arrows. Neighboring crocs were none to happy about the loss of their leader so they were also dispatched. Drop site secured and scan completed.

The second scan location was due north in the arctic zone. Conditions were harsh even in daylight. After weathering a passing storm in a hastily deployed 3-foot square box, we reached the scan zone. We were welcomed by Makknus, the most huggable polar bear you've ever seen. Yes, that was sarcasm. Three well placed arrows to the face brought the beast down. Drop site secured and scan completed.

For the last scan of the mission, we followed the river further north to a massive lake. The shore where the scan beacon was to be placed was overrun by komodos. The UDA gets what the UDA wants. The expedition team exterminated the komodo infestation with extreme prejudice and then wiped out the reinforcements to ensure the creatures knew not to return. Drop site secured and scan completed.

The return trip to our drop pods was simple enough but not without some difficulty. Again we had to weather a passing storm and deal with some of the local wildlife along the way. All prospectors successfully made it back to drop pods and returned to the safety of orbit.
