Greetings Everyone,
Over the past few years we have grown to reach thousands of players topping out at 1,600 characters in our family, and 5,700 Tuatha members. We have taken to the battlefield and organized 1 successful season of Battle for Badlands (Along with 2 almost successful ;) ), and have lead over 300 Trinity Public oRvR Events. We've taken fortresses, killed kings, and fought the best the server had to offer. Through our years we created new friendships and a unbelievable community of both allies and foes that will travel on with us in the future.
It is with sadness that I come today before you and state the true nature of the game and the situation that Mythic has put their own player base into. I have been a Core Tester for a year and a half now and have seen great things come to be and not so great things come to play. The 1.4 change I strongly stood against and advised Mythic to leave the zones the way they were. After the first beta the true nature of the patch came to bear as one zerg locked down the pinch points and pinched them until the other side gave up. Then that said side spent an hour waiting to have the resources available to siege a keep, by the time the keep siege started most of the underdog side had quit and left the field leaving the offense to siege an empty keep.
I'm not sure about you, but watching 4 guys swing a ram while you pray and hope that some kind of opposition shows up isn't what I'd consider oRvR. The Fortress battles where 200 players clashed in a frenzied bloody battle for ownership was oRvR. The hour long keep defenses which turned into keep offenses rising up over a foe which out numbered you was oRvR. Setting up ambushes waiting for the zerg to pass by so you can split them in half and decimating them was oRvR. Waiting around for hours on end for resources to spawn, then waiting a good 15-30 minutes for a door to fall while theres not a soul to be found is not oRvR at all. Our game has changed and the game we once loved is now something entirely different. Like being married to Anne Hathaway to have her replaced by Zach Galifianakis and then having them expect you to be happy with the exchange.
Mythic does not have it's community in it's best interest. From their "no-archchair design" policy which basically equates to we don't care what you say were gonna do it anyways. Two and a half years of a downward trend of population. We have not had an increase in population since launch day. The game we play now has less content than when we began. Mythic has worked diligently to negating content and making it worthless. Crypts, Lost Vale, ToVL, with 1.4.1 none of them will ever be needed to be done again. Earning medallions for gear? Not if your in anything less that Sovereign. For those talk to the guy on the docks and buy your Worn Sov set or below for less than the price of a Tier 2 mount. They've taken the reason to be a high ranked guild out of the game, they've taken guild pride out of the game, they've even taken the Realm War off the web. The very game that we have grown to love has been reduced over the past 2.5 years and they expect us to Pay for it and be happy about it.
Over the past couple weeks the Eldership and I have been discussing ways to keep our division in Warhammer Online alive. We have a few members who still enjoy the game however with the severe lack of destruction population and the will to fight, Badlands has become unbearable. Last night in an attempt to try to transfer one of the 4 Gaiscioch rooms to Gorfang to hopefully have some kind of competition we were slapped in the face with a message forbidding us to transfer our guild from Badlands. So we are forced to continue fighting nobody and they expect us to be happy about it. It costs $20 for a single Badlands character transfer., To transfer your account your looking at $160. Can I expect anyone in good faith to pay $160 to enjoy this game for a few more months? It is unfortunate that I can not. If Mythic gave us some kind of hope that change is on the horizon then perhaps it would be worth waiting it out. But all they present to us is the next wave of removal of content from the game.
It is because of this that I must bring unfortunate news. On March 6th the Gaiscioch Trinity will take to the field one last time in Tier 4. During this even we will be passing out Annihilator, Conqueror, Invader, Warlord, Talismans, and even Sovereign gear to any who are staying behind and can use it. At the end of the event we will close the doors of the family for the last time and turn out the lights. We wish everyone the best in their adventures and hope to cross paths with you again.
To our Tuatha, you have been wonderful and I thank you for 2.5 years of the most enjoyable community I have ever been a part of. We began on Phoenix Throne as a single alliance and grew to over 59 Guilds and 5,700 characters. You guys have been the best warhammer has to offer. Thank you.
To our destruction friends (most of which are now playing the game which can't be mentioned ;) ), You guys were awesome and we'll miss you. Hope to cross paths with you again in the future.
To the Gaiscioch we leave behind. I /salute you. If you are planning on remaining in game please shoot me a in game mail. I have something for you. You guys have been the most wonderful group of people and you know where to find us. Our community isn't about 1 game it's about friendship and that is not bound to a single game. I hope we can continue to stay in touch and look forward to hearing of your adventures. Thank you all for being a part of the Gaiscioch Family.
To Mythic, I loved you guys to the bottom of my heart, I spent countless hours trying to make the game better. I know times have changed in camp Mythic and I don't hold any ill will against any of you. I know your giving it your best and I hope that you find your way soon. Dark Age of Camelot was our first chapter, Warhammer Online our second. 10 Years of Gaiscioch have been spent in your products and for that I am thankful. Good luck in your future endeavorer. I /salute you.
I'll see you all on the 6th for one last ride to Inevitable City. I hope to see you there.
