Yeah I am in the beta waiting list also. It looks like something I have been looking for a true sci fi MMO not just a fps being advertised like a mmo. Which sadly is a very common thing these days.
"not just a fps being advertised like a mmo"
They are MMOs, they're called MMOFPS games. The only criteria for a game to be able to call itself a "MMO" is that it have a persistent, evolving world where players can casually cross paths with other players. MMOFPS aren't a gimmicky trend, they're an evolution of the FPS style of game design. Believe it or not, Guild Wars 2 rides the fine line of being able to call itself a MMO, because it has instanced zones that are population capped at roughly 200 players.
Back on topic, I'm watching this game and I'm actually surprised I haven't received a Beta invite, yet. I usually have a good track record with NCSoft games, because I've tested so many over the years. I was even going to apply for a job with Carbine, but I don't want to move from Seattle to Cali.

Hmm.. it almost kinda seems like its Rift meets Team Fortress meets (carton) Ben Ten. I might have to check it out. It's a bit cartooney... but.. we'll see :) At least it's not the same graphics engine of Runes of magic *cough cough*
hahah Mickey i was thinking of posting it too but i guess u got me on that ^^but yeah cant w8 on this here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4_riSI7Ydg

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtK-8sUazUs PAX 2012 - WildStar gameplay demo with Chad Moore and Mike Geldard It does look fun. Curious to see if they make it to retail before ESO.
It won't really matter. ESO won't pull the average gamer interest that Elder Scrolls fans think it will. Unless Zenimax and Bethesda step up their pre-release marketing, Carbine and NCSoft will out hype them with Wildstar.
edit - actually after doing more research I totally agree with you Sekkerhund. Carbine Studios seem to know what they are doing.

I really know so little about this game. Any mention if B2P, P2P, F2P? I couldn't find the info on their site. My first impression is a Sci Fi Wow clone, but since I really am not familiar with the functions of the game, I am just basing that on initial looks and video. What sets this one apart?
They have not announced a pay model; have not ruled out a sub either. The combat looks fun. They are basing group play on the trinity, 5 man instances and 40 man raids. They also have warplots which are 40 vs 40 pvp, build a base and try to defend it and capture the other teams, guilds can team up together or against each other for these, not sure how long the battle lasts. The developers do not shy away from WoW comparisons a few of them were on the original WoW team. Totalbiscuit - cynical brit guy made a couple preview videos last week, he was able to play a bit himself in video 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PeUbXJZPkd0&list=UUy1Ms_5qBTawC-k7PVjHXKQ&index=4
Came across it ,likely going to give it a whirl, along with archeage, but thats for another thread!
I am very excited about this game, and glad to find a topic on Gaiscioch. I hope there will be a guild once the game goes live.
Seems to be enough interest for it to probably qualify as a Saighdear game (10 members minimum), but it doesn't/won't meet Fog's requirements for a full Chapter.
I just signed up for the beta as well. Looks fun!
