so my wonderful dog trigger got a nasty hematoma on his ear and it has to be drained, for 2 weeks. He now wares the cone of shame and as such is trying like heck to get it off does anyone know how to keep him from doing this? he keeps knocking stuff down and im afraid he might hurt himself.
Have you asked the vet for possible sedatives for him? We had to do that for Molly (our German Shepherd), was sad watching her mope around and sleep a lot - but she was able to get the rest she needed and heal.
hes 10 so they don't want to give him anything save pain meds and they gave him a whooper of a shot before we brought him home today. the thing really annoys him though so I may just stop by the vet again tomorrow.

They make a blow up ring that I use on my shep, it is better than the cone and he tollerates it better. Try finding one of those!!

thanks for the help guys but hes got a tube in his ear so sadly none of those will work:( oh well hes starting to get the hang of it(though he keeps giving me death stares) so hopefully now he wont hurt himself.
