Guild bank full

was going to make some stuff to leave in guild bank to swap out for other crafters and I noticed it was 490/500, upon looking closer I realized there are over 100 wood, 100 cloth/hide and 100 metal items in bank all tier 1, all made by friar. while not a bad thing, we don't need 100 bows, or 100 iron daggers etc, we need the room for all tiers, I usually try and keep myself to no more than 20 items in any tier/profession at  time.

a good use of the lower tier stuff to maybe get them out and make something of it, if you make an alt, skip starter zone, you get couple skill points to spend, it takes 5 items to deconstruct to get to lvl 3 and get a hireling, I regularly get purple and gold improvement items from my hireling. if anyone needs/wants to burn more than 20 or 25 items, use the forums and guildchat (artisians) to get a partner and you can work stacks of mats quickly working next to each other.

also, coincidently, Dahlmora has a central hut, and in it are all the crafting stations and a bank, make life much easier than running back and forth.

This has to do with items not stacking in the guild back. Which takes up space.

Those crafted items are there for someone to take out and deconstruct, I imagine. I do think it would be wiser not to put that many in all at once, though.

The Idea of the bank was to be able to swap items in stead of meeting up in person and just trading 5 items at a time or in game mailing 6 items at a time. People who attended the meeting were strongly suggest to team up with someone instead of just dumping items in to the bank. I personally put some level 36 bows in about 2 weeks ago (6 or 7) and someone took them but didn't replace them.

Currently to my knowledge last time I asked in guild chat no one was close to my skill level. That why I stop putting things in the bank. I am a blacksmith 41 (9/9 skill), Cloth 39 (8/9 skill) and a 33 carp (7/9 skill). If people want some stuff made just talk to me in game @fl824 and if you have the mats I make stuff for you to break down. I normally don't keep mats on me but the tier my character is currently V3.   I plan to start storing up mats once I am vet 10 and working my alts back through the world areas to gather for my supplies.

I will remove some of the items and replace them.  I sent mail to Friar so he is alerted to picking up the items.  Hopefully this will help.

One thing to keep in mind is that if you take 20 level 16 items to deconstruct, you don't need to put 20 level 16 items back in - I try to put in an equivalent number of deconstruct xp, as shown by jarjarbinx's spreadsheet (which is linked around here somewhere).

So for instance, I might take 10 level 6 daggers out, which is 1000 decon xp (100xp times 10 daggers). If I can't make 10 level 6 daggers (say lack of iron ore or whatever) I wouldn't feel bad about replacing that with 5 level 16 daggers, which is 1350xp (270xp times 5 daggers).

There's no limit on deconstructing items higher than you, only a limit on what materials you get back, so even a level 3 crafter can deconstruct level 16 daggers. They just wouldn't get much (any?) steel back.

Is there a guide on how to use (or not use) the guild bank?

I noticed that it was only half full (in each guild) and wasn't stacking many common items. I was tempted to pull items, stack, and deposit them back. Now that I read this thread, I'm glad I didn't. I had no idea people were transferring through the bank. I run into inventory limits all the time, and occasionally drop stuff in the guild bank that I think would be useful. They certainly look more valuable than most of the items in the bank. I expect others to grab them as needed and expect nothing in return. Fire and forget.

This bypasses the GSCH marketplace, but I'm not overly concerned with obtaining guild credits. I just figure I can help others out, throwing the odd Motif or green/blue set gear into the bank.

Is my good will misguided? Am I going against  or worse, breaking the system? Am I the only one who is clueless?

unfortunately restacking doesn't work, I see with all the craft components, like flint, starmetal, etc, I pulled out a ton, and it just didn't stack in my inv, and I dropped em back in and they still didn't stack, need to drop a ticket about that. you can see that they should stack but are not.

as far as the dropping in/taking out to deconstruct, your right, its completely on honor system, I personally don't take out what I cant replace, tho I have used some of the low tier stuff for alts to get lvl 3 and hireling. i have a ton of mats from lower tiers i put on alt to hold, so if you need mats for tier 1-3 send me a mail, i'll send you a stack of whatever i have avail til it runs out.

and for Slevin, final thought, this thread if specifically for Artisians guild bank, and has nothing to do with the other 2 guild banks, and the artisian bank is limited to only those who have signed and agreed to the terms of honesty to use it to help each other work on our crafting skill. so hopefully you are not dropping  anything in the crafters bank.

Akkmed, no. I'm not in that guild, so I haven't been messing that bank up. Thanks for pointing out the difference.

I stack things in my inventory by dragging and dropping onto other stacks. It works for me.

Please when you post these threads say which guild it is for. I spent a long part of my game time last night going through guild banks and sorting/ trying to find said items in all 5 gaischioch guilds. Thanks:)

Yes, please name guild when talking of any bank.  Not only is there the crafting guild but 5 other banks for the core and active guilds.  Also a good deal of people are not in the crafting guild and no elder is in it because we are already holding 5 slots for core and active rooms.

As for the regular guild banks, I am seeing things that now can fill orders on our marketplace here on the website.  Please be checking out the marketplace because Fog has added quite a bit in the last week.  One of the biggest things is a way to order level 1 items with traits on them for researching purposes.  Of course, I made his head hurt when I told him I know personally of 110 or so provisioning recipes in this game and that is nowhere near all of them.  ;)

So be careful what you are throwing in all the banks at this point and really think if you should bother when there are tons of it in there and be sure to verify what you can do on the marketplace at least once a week as changes are coming out, some unannounced as Fog works on it.

sorry about the error for it being artisians guild bank, I thought that was a given when I posted it in the crafters page of forum. learnt my lesson.

and THANK YOU to Slevin for pointing out you can drag and stack like items, it will help a ton with the racial mats in artisian's bank
