Goodbye Warhammer

I buy monthly prepaid cards, so every time I have to buy a new one I have the opportunity to reevaluate the game.

Last month the WP nerf hit me, but since I just joined an awesome guild and met some awesome people I could group with I decided to pay another month.
I got used to my nerfheals and the Warlord set made everything slightly better again, got some compliments that I would be a good healer - for my level.

But now another month has passed, and I realized: If I wanted to play this game seriously I have to buy the the progression pack and start the grind to get on the other side of the power gap. Go to the hated cities, pass my time standing around in aao keep defenses and heal out of party as much as possible, join SCs to get farmed by 80+ premades till I get my red book.
Then there are issues like the bugged rams and the long, long silence from mythic, I think it's very obvious they don't have the means to do more than fix more than minor bugs, if even that.
(Yes, I know Andy has reappeared and there is a new producer letter, but there is only a tiny glimpse of hope.)

That's the point where I got all defiant and decided to vote with my wallet. Guys and girls, sometimes the game can be a lot of fun, and with you even the annoying parts of the game became much better, but this company doesn't deserve to get my money.

I miss you and hope to see you all again, hopefully in better games! :)

Have you looked at Rift? There is a group of us moving to that game from Warhammer?

Yah, we kinda all moved there. Just sign up for the beta, and the account will notify you the next time we have a test if you get picked.

I enjoyed playing with you. I'm sure we'll see you again in the future in another game.

Aww, thanks! :) Oh, I was so pleased to find out Rift is available in Europe, so much fun stuff produced in the US won't even be available in Canada. Didn't have much hope to get a key, I was very happy when I got one and it actually worked! :D I had so much fun last week on beta it's unbelievable. And when I carefully approached a hip high wall considering how to approach such an annoying obstacle and what would be the shortest way to ride around - to find out I can just make a smooth jump - I fell in love. OK, that was a slight exaggeration, it was actually the Riftstalker I fell in love with, but I really appreciate good craftsmanship and this game oozes it. :)

When Rift Beta was active, things were more evened out in T4 lol. On the T4 Siege night, we pushed to IC and could have locked all 3 zones. But I know what you mean about the lack of work on this game. There is very little sign of improvement and I'm not sure even the most diehard player is too optimistic of it's long term future at this point. Still I enjoy whacking Destro and we had loads of fun in Oldroar's wb on Thursday night running around rolling Destro left and right. Hope to see you in Rift. :)

I am sad to see you leave Berga.. Its been very fun running with you and I too hope to meet in a future game. The best of luck!

Berga.....noooooooooo. I will miss you so much, you have been there for me in T4 covering my ass, who now is going to take care of me with all those big bad destro around!!!!! You have been a great team player and it is a sad day indead for all of us in Gaiscioch. I hope to be playing with you again ..maybe in Rift or Guildwars 2, I hope so anyway. My Friend Berga you presence in warhammer will be sorely missed. I fully understand your reasons and support your decision. I miss you, too, I considered just tuning in on event nights to chat a bit! :) It's a pity I'm going to miss the community photo, but I might use the welcome back offer to at least empty my vault. ----------- In my mind, the decision for the progression pack always plays out like this: Suit: You're not making enough money with Warhammer, make more levels and more armor we can sell in our store. Employee: We can't do this, it'll break the game. Suit: WoW has more levels, we need more levels, too. Employee: WoW is a PvE-centric game, this is a PvP game, you can't just add new levels! Suit: I don't understand, what's the difference? Employee: ... Suit: You realize we have to downsize if you don't generate more income? If you can't do it, maybe someone else should have your job? Employee: N-no, we can do it, it'll be awesome! Suit: Good, that's what we wanted to hear. Employee: Do you know about the goose that laid the golden eggs? Suit: You can't expect us to keep track of every minor detail, just sell them for $10 at the store. Shouldn't you be working? Employee: Yes, Sir!
