Totally lost with this. It looks like all my/our stacks of skill points will be converted into mats for the forge?? Also, I wonder how we are going to make our siege when we use our skill points to forge it. I am finding the explanation a bit confusing.
Right now I have a few stacks of skill points in the bank for siege and I am wondering if I should be buying regular siege at this point and using up my skill points before the expansion comes out. Any thoughts on this?
It sounds like the system is staying very similar (but with new terminology and UI), with the exception of using skill points as currency. I would assume they are going to be using something else a currency for the items currently purchased with skill points - perhaps that is what they are referring to as "crafting materials for the Mystic Forge"... In which case it would just be a matter of new terminology (and perhaps a new wallet slot for these, which would makes more sense for currency). It's definitely not clear that that will be the case, but I have a feeling it will be.
The article said skill points would be converted into a new crafting material used in the mystic forge which makes me think they will become storable in the materials tab of the bank.
My guess is that the different items miyani sells for skill points will be gotten rid of and replaced in mystic forge recipes with the matching number of this new material. This would condense the number of different items which saves game size by reducing code and makes the process less confusing. Ie. You would use 1 of the new material in place of 1 siege master guide in each of the superior siege mystic forge recipes.
My biggest question is how will this new crafting material be obtained post expansion and will it be marketable or remain account bound.
I have sooooo many questions about this that just can't be answered - I will hate if they convert my skill points to crafting materials that are bound - I don't craft. If I can't sell the stuff or give it to a family member it will be worthless to me...
At the moment, I'm not excited. It might make my least favorite (least played) lvl 80 my new favorite or it might not change a thing. I do have one slot on standby for playing the Revenant... just have to wait and see.

Mind, she's still writing it up, but there's quite a bit of info so far.
Thank you Dyaon - that kind of made me excited to see what my Engy has coming down the road. My Engy was my first character and I love playing her but always gave way to my necro who just "did" better at most things - like surviving. But I reckon a lot will have to do with the specializations planned.
