I've been looking for a druid build so I can still use my longbow with the staff. Mainly for wvw, want to be able to heal and dps. Please and thank you.

A variation of this build with Zealot's gear might do the job, but you may want to get some defensive stats in the mix if you have problems surviving.

You could try this one, which is the build one of the Snow Crows guild members uses for raids:

http://de.gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQNAsXWn0rCtqgFsC2sCEtil9ADOueX3rL3uAwojZgFwGBp8swMVE-TxRBABWcKAua/R53paCwTPAAPBAKV/xMlgkCwv9WA-e

For WvW,  I would swap out the sword for the longbow as that is your preference.  In WvW, I've used Sigil of Bloodlust and Force on my longbow.  For the utility skills, I would replace Frost spirit with Signet of Stone or Signet of the Wild.  Replace the Glyph elite with Strength of the Pack.  For traits, in the Druid line take Natural Stride for mobility.  Use the Bristleback, Smokescale or Tiger as pets.  The new HoT pets are really good.  With the Bristleback, activate Strength of the Pack before using the pet's F2 Spike Barrage.

If the Berserker trinkets are too squishy, you could replace 3 of them with Soldier's.

hmm thanks for the replies, but I'm not confident in my ability to restructure a pve build for healing in wvw.

Then I recommend you reconsider playing a Druid in WvW.  With the introduction of the Druid elite specialization, I have put in a lot of time playing with this specialization since its focus is on healing and support rather than DPS.  I've done Dragon Stand meta several times,  Chak Gerent meta twice, and reached Ruby division in the PvP league.  Playing a Druid requires that you use a new weapon (Staff), new Glyph skills, and the celestial avatar form.

If you are still interested in playing a Druid in WvW, I suggest you watch the first twenty minutes of this Twitch video of Rom playing a Druid in pvp.  Notice how he uses his staff and sword skills to move on the map, when he uses his Druid glyph skills, when he goes into celestial avatar form and when he transforms back, and how he uses his staff skills for healing.

<is a casual player and only goes into wvw with the family events. I'll watch it but I have no interest in pvp. I usually just find a build I'm comfortable with and can have fun with. :P

Don't forget that WvW is a combat game mode with groups of players battling each other.  If you are with four other SoR players at one of our supply camps that is attacked by opposing players, you will have to defend yourself.

I linked that Twitch video not for its pvp content but because it shows how a good player uses Druid skills.  Even if there is a WvW Druid build, that by itself will not magically transform you into a Druid player---only hard work will get you to a competent level.

Pua,

I don't think Izzy is looking to be in any 5 man premades. Traditionally she usually rides with the pack or scouts. Just as she did with her necromancer the more she plays it the more comfortable she will be. She's just asking if anyone has a good starting place. Nobody is born knowing a class. It takes time to learn it. Even with the "Perfect" build, it takes time to get used to the playstyle. She's just looking for a starting point. Not everyone is looking to be competitive.

Hey Izzy, by no means am I anything remotely close to a druid expert but I've been messing around and this is the build I'm currently running (swap out sword/torch for staff). Hope this helps at least get you started.

Rotation:

Use Point Blank Shot and another attack to immobilize and stack bleeds onto a foe. You can use Rapid fire to take down his health.

  • Healing Spring is a great panic skill. Use it to stealth and run away quickly if you need to run.
  • When you are near an enemy, swap to sword/torch and then use bonfire. You can then use bonfire with an 8 second cooldown.
  • Drop Flame trap on a cluster of enemies or when you need a bit of mobility or stealth.
  • Drop Spike trap onto enemies with the intention to interrupt them. You can also attack afterward to immobilize them with ancient seeds. If you drop Flame trap with spike trap, Ancient seed will still proc.
  • This build is meant to be mobile. Drop flame traps for superspeed to travel to wherever you need to be.

If you meet yourself on the testing track, don't make eye contact. Lab boys tell me that'll wipe out time. Entirely.

Fog,

No, I never said anything about being in 5-man premades.  The example I used about being at a supply camp could be five players who go to the camp to pick up supply and return to their group to help build siege equipment.

I believe the build I provided in my first post could serve as a starting point.   The build Yulan offered would also serve that purpose.

"Nobody is born knowing a class. It takes time to learn it. Even with the "Perfect" build, it takes time to get used to the playstyle."

We are on the same page and I believe I made that clear in my earlier posts.

I would try something like this. It is pretty close to the standard pvp build. Some of the traits you could pick other options so don't feel tied to what I suggest. I am not sure what gear you want depending on how defensive vs offensive you want to be. Maybe start with cleric gear (possibly some soldier for a bit of vitality) and then add minstrel for more defense or zealot for more offense (or even some zerker if zealot is to hard to get). For runes you could use monk, pack, soldier, a few options depending on what you want. This build will give you perma-swiftness with your shouts, which I really like for wvw.

For pets I would use smokescale/bristleback as they will be your primary source of damage.
