I've saved some seeds from the tomatoes I've grown this summer. If you've saved some also and would like to trade varieties, I'd be happy to trade what I have. Here are the varieties I can offer:

All varieties are open pollinated and not hybrids.

Lithuanian Crested Pink (med-large, pink, heart shaped, regular leaf, indet)

Amish Paste (small, red, paste, regular leaf, indet)

Myona (limited number of seeds, med, red, plum, regular leaf, indet)

Cherokee Chocolate (limited number of seeds, med, brown/black, beefsteak, regular leaf, indet)

Heidi (small, red, plum, regular leaf, semi-det)

Artisan Purple Bumblebee (small, purple with green stripes, med-large cherry, regular leaf, indet)

My tomato plant this year I was happy to say is disease and bug free. I am not sure what kind it is I'll have to run out and check the tag. I have never traded seeds before but I would absolutely love to. Should I just dry them on some paper towel and put them in a baggy or envelope? I also have a pepper plant also not sure what kind it is off the top of my head that was disease and bug free if you want to trade that too.

Looks like I have Heinz Heirloom Red Tomato and Cajun Belle (spicy pepper)

Heavyartillery--I bought mine from places that said the seeds were non-GMO. I grew them organically--I used Tomatotone by Espoma, which is an organic fertilizer. Since I grew them along with borage, parsley, and basil, I got very few bad bugs on them this year. The only problem I've had lately is blight (early blight, even though it's late in the season). I have sprayed them with Daconil, which I think is technically not organic, but the seeds I have saved currently came from tomatoes harvested before I started spraying. So, while I don't meet the official criteria for being organic, I do grow as organically as possible. I use only pyrethrin dust or diatomaceous earth if the hornworms get out of control. I like to save the bees, butterflies, and birds!

Coaxochdas--I live in south central PA in the US--zone 6b.

Ysolde--I'd be happy to trade for both the tomato and pepper seeds--they sound great! Here is a great tutorial on how to save tomato seeds (and a great source for heirloom varieties, too. http://blog.seedsavers.org/blog/heirloom-tomato-seedsaving (click the pictures below the yellow tomatoes for the quick step-by-step tutorial). You'll want to dry them on paper plates instead of paper towels, otherwise the paper towels will stick to them. I ferment mine first to remove the gel coat (in the garage to keep the vinegar odor down, thank you!). Then I dry them on labeled paper plates for a few weeks. Once dry, I store them in a place where they can't get damp. If you put them in plastic, add a couple rice grains to absorb any residual moisture.

I'd trade some of my peppers, but I grew mostly hybrids. I did grow some heirloom paprikas, but I learned that since I had them too close together, the bees likely cross-pollinated them. If you don't mind some Feher Ozon that might be mixed with other peppers (I have several kinds including a jalapeno), I'll save some seeds for you. Otherwise, I'll share some extra tomato varieties with you.

Awesome. I'll dry out some Feher Ozon paprika seeds for you. It's a very pretty sweet pepper. Apparently, you can dry the peppers to make paprika powder, but I haven't had any ripe enough to try it just yet. It won't be too much longer, however.

I went out and looked at the one tiny Alma paprika I had, and I was overjoyed to see it had turned red. Then I turned it up to harvest it, only to discover the bugs had eaten the bottom out of it. >.<  Such is the life of a gardener. :)

Im still waiting on my peppers to turn red. Im getting the last of my tomatoes turning red now but Ive been getting fruit from the plant for the past 2 months. The plant grew almost 4' and wouldve gone higher if I put a bigger post in it. The tomato plant got so big it killed off my peas haha.

Well, the peas die off as soon as the heat hits. Mine produced their first and only crop of pods and then croaked as soon as the first hot day hit. :D

I'm waiting for my peppers to ripen fully before harvesting the seeds, too. There's no rush! I'm waiting a few more weeks for some of my other seeds to dry fully before sending them off anywhere.

It seems my Jaune Flammee tomatoes are going to produce nicely before the first frost hits, too. So, I should have some seeds for those as well, if you'd like. They're a yellow tomato with a red blush inside, and they're also an indeterminate OP tomato. They're about the size of a ping pong ball. These seeds will have come from tomatoes that did get a couple sprays of Daconil, unlike the ones in the first post which were grown entirely organically. I hate spraying with anything since I feel it's essential to do whatever I can to support the honeybee population, but the last few weeks have been tough for blight.

I am using Papermart.com to get some of my bubble mailing envelopes along with some of the small envelopes to store seeds. There are tutorials online on how to make little seed envelopes out of 2 post-it notes, but I have hand arthritis and have to make a ton of them for my other seed swaps. I'm using some of those flat paper coin tubes (100 for only $3) and taping them shut in the meantime until the other envelopes come in.

You are awesome    I am slow at this  but I would like to send you some Seminole pumpkin seeds.  Seminole pumpkins are a native Florida pumpkin.  I feel SURE they will grow in Pa.  The bugs get most of my tomatoes.  I also have some Scotch Bonnet seeds.  Also I have tons of Rosemary  and lemon grass  naturally grown--no pesticides for 6 years if you  or anyone else would like some dried.  Later...

Coaxochdas I told my husband you had Scotch Bonnet seeds and he was like I WANT SOME! I was like omg okay! So if you want to do a trade let me know, Ive listed what I have to offer above. Still in the process of drying my tomato seeds and waiting on the peppers to mature.

Seed update--I have all the tomatoes above except Heidi right now, and I can add Jaune Flammee to the list, too. Some of the varieties are still drying--I don't want to send them too soon and have them develop mildew during mailing. I should have some Heidi seeds fermenting and drying shortly, but I'm not too sure how many I will get.

Coaxochdas, I would love to try the Seminole pumpkin. It sounds awesome. I grow rosemary, too. I LOVE it in Italian beef! :) Did you have any tomatoes you'd really like (or all--I have enough)?  Scotch bonnets are beautiful but too hot for our family. My kids are just SURE they are absolutely DYING if I put more than one jalapeno in the homemade salsa. It's hilarious.

I would also enjoy some dry lemon grass--I don't have any right now.

Ysolde, I've been saving seeds from the two Feher Ozon pepper plants that weren't growing near the other pepper plants. With any luck, they won't have crossed-pollinated with the others. I'm hoping a few more peppers will ripen up before frost hits. One of the peppers had no mature seeds at all, despite being a lovely red, so I don't have a huge number of seeds yet. Hopefully soon!
