Guidelines for recruiting to Gaiscioch ESO chapter?

Greetings friends,

I would like to know what the guidelines are for recruiting to Gaiscioch. I know after members join they need to follow the code, but how do we find those who might want the chance to be family? Is anyone eligible?

After 8pm server Gaiscioch has been a ghost town. There were 16 people online last night and and five of them were Alliances other than EP. One of them was my better half so that left 9 people who didn't live in my apartment that we could do guild runs with. I suppose the part where they don't all live with me is a blessing ;)

Guild chat is silent, Vox is empty. This is very much not what I experienced when I first joined the guild.

Perhaps someone has other views on this but I feel like the chapter is fading here on ESO and I would like to help.

See you soon!

We don't really go out and recruit people openly, we welcome those who want to apply for membership! :D

It is also summer time and ALL times are a lot quieter.  We do not go looking for people to recruit, we have gotten what we do have by them coming to us through meeting us randomly in the game.  Things always pick up after summer.  Things should pick up for a bit when Imperial City goes live on August 31st and it works out okay for those interested.  We shall see!

If people want to know about Gaiscioch I definitely point them to the website.  I know my smaller guids for RP and one that is more raid specific hear about it because I talk up the magazine and other things we do.  Then if I get talking to random strangers I run into long enough I suggest checking it out.  It's up to them if they think they fit in.  On a good note we have only had one really zinger of a person that happily decided to leave before I actually had to boot them for improper guild chat talk in the past 5 months!

I understand what you are saying, however in order to do family events we need guild members. It is so quiet I have picked guild members for runs out of zone chat twice in the last month for exactly what we were looking for that I had posted in Guild chat.

The Hel Ra run was the first time I had met 60 percent of the people there after 77 days in the guild.

There were two people in Vox marked event leaders I had never met or even seen online.

Since we can have reasonable discussion here, am I supposed to just continue finding people in Deshaan zone chat and joining other larger guilds to find people to run with? Morning dungeon run only guild? I know we aren't a social only guild, at least not during the day. Once I log on I typically see half the guild members online saying goodnight.

I understand we live in different time zones, we have separate schedules, families, it's summer. Many factors contribute to this. How do we keep the family growing and active if people can't find us? I was online and I happened across Gaiscioch after reading a dungeon guide. We are not that easy to find based on my experience. More people need to know about this family. It is very unique.

Can I invite people to the guild I meet while playing or do they have to go through the website?

Greetings,

Our recruitment method is different from most.

Things we do not do under any circumstance:

  1. Blanket Spam Invite - Please don't turn us into "One of those" guilds.
  2. Approach people to join us - First Test is a test of initiative. They have to come to us and want to join us to get inside our family.
  3. Spam Chat Channels - We do not beg people to join us or annoy them into joining us. Spamming chat channels hurts us more than helps us.
  4. Don't Be Rude or Selfish - This will push people away from our community and make bringing people in more difficult. It also is a good way to get removed from the family. Our community is focused on helping people not pushing them down.

Things we do at every possible moment:

  1. Keep Our Events Open To The Public - It is ok to promote your event using our guild name and inviting others outside our community to join you in an event. By inviting outsiders we make them curious about us. Curiosity breeds Initiative which then builds our numbers. The more you can include outsiders in what we do without nagging them to join us the better. Let them ask questions and make the choice for themselves to join us.
  2. Send People To the Website When They Ask - It is ok to send players to http://gsch.info/eso when they ask about our community OR if they would like to know more about our event schedule.
  3. Give a Player our Secret Word to Join - If a player is interested in joining send them to http://gsch.info/join with the secret word. They don't have to go through the "Request to Join" phase and can go directly to member registration. If you don't know the secret word... you should but you can ask in guild chat. It hasn't changed in 14 years and is the single most important thing our family focuses on.
  4. Be Kind To Random People - Give new players stuff, help them out, make them curious about who you represent and act in a manor becoming of a Gaiscioch. This will in turn bring people to know us as a benevolent community.

Key Takeaway Point:

Gaiscioch Recruits By Action Not By Words. Let our Events and Kindness do the speaking for us.

Hope that clears it up a bit.

You can however they will be ghosts and wont have a lifeline. Without registering they wont last long in the family. The website is what connects us and keeps us updated. Just make sure they get registered or they will feel isolated and secluded.

Thank you, that does clear things up.

I will endeavor to be an example and seek out others who are like minded to those in the family.

I do look forward to meeting more of you in game or otherwise.

Yup all the guild's I have been in always had a lot of people wanting to join we never openly recruited either.  The best way to recruit is by your actions. It's always  good to read an apps post after joining and see they did because one time x member helped me. Or I saw how you guys treated people in zone chat or pugs in your group etc.  Only thing that annoys me is how antisocial the game is by design and nothing really large scale we can do like most MMOs except  Dolemans. Every thing is small groups asand instance. And no Guild tags or anything  So people can recognize who we are.

This is a really good topic for us to revisit with so many new folks joining us. Ill be sure to include it in todays summit.
