Logitech 12 button mouse - Surprise Profiles!

I am not at home, so don't have the model #, but my 12 button Logitech mouse likes to surprise me.    I programmed all 12 buttons, but just use buttons 7 through 12 as that is what my thumb can comfortably reach.  For the ESO profile, that means buttons 7 through 12 correspond to the Skill buttons 1 through 5.   All seems to work fine until I enter an instanced area . . . then it will sometimes switch to a different profile on its own.

I've tried programming the default profile to mirror ESO's; I have 3 modes for each profile and programmed all 3 to be the same; and I have to little buttons on top of the mouse to switch to different modes which I unassigned in case I am bumping them . ..  but still my mouse seems to find a mysterious profile.

Any suggestions of what my next troubleshooting or fix might be?

Thanks!!!

hmm well I a couple years ago I had a Logitech G11 keyboard, and my Optical Trackman has programmable buttons as well.  It kind of sounds like it's swapping to a game profile, vs the keyboard/mouse profile buttons on the keyboard itself...

I'm afraid that's all I can really think of, and honestly I didn't use the game profile thing (where it sets your profile based on the .exe file) because it was real buggy.  I've still got my trackball (which they just stopped making *cries*) but I've switched over to a Corsair Vengeance K95 keyboard so I don't even have the Logitech "game profile" thing anymore >.<

That makes sense!  I think the next time it occurs, I'll try to use buttons 1 through 5 until I get switch it back to my preferred profile.  This usually means reloading UI or opening up the Logitech software and re-selecting one of the modes.

Thanks for the tip!

I have the 9 button logitech mouse and i configured mine similar to you except i didn't have to attach it to the eso exe.

The mouse has 3 different profiles i can configure the buttons for.  In my logitech software profile, i mapped mouse buttons 3 - 7 for the keyboard numbers 1 - 5 so i did not have to map the mouse buttons in the eso keybind.  The eso keybind still has keyboard 1 - 5 mapped.

Did you update to the latest logitech software version?

I probably have the same mouse as you.  I haven't had that issue before.  I do know it sometimes has issues if you switch windows to quickly it gets lost on what "profile" it's suppose to be on.

You could try "Lock profile while game is running".  You select your ESO game profile, right click on it, move to "Properties", and you'll have a check box available.

Also make sure you have the ESO executable selected, not the launcher.

I just returned to read the suggestions.  Thanks so much for the ideas.

I appreciate the screenshot of the profile as it can be a very "busy" program to find things in.  I locked the profile just now and have my fingers crossed that this will do the trick.

But I am also going to look into the software update suggestion.  I also have a Logitech keyboard which I just bought but haven't programmed.  I'm searching my memory banks to see if this problem starting occurring about the time I acquired the keyboard.  Hmmmmm . . .

Thanks again for the ideas.  I'll let you know if this was the cure.  :)

Since going into properties and locking the profile while in game; my ESO profile has not changed!!!   This may well be the cure.

Thanks!
