I've read most of his Sharpe series (which were fantastic!!) and now I'm really looking forward to reading his Saxon stories. Thanks for the recommendation!
One of my favorite authors. It's been awhile since I've read any of his books, but I have read all of the ones in The Starbuck Chronicles series and The Grail Quest series. I need to check out The Warrior Chronicles next, I think!

If The Warrior Chronicles are the ones featuring the Vikings - I can highly recommend them. I enjoyed hugely. :)
I have loved his books ever since i first picked up the Winter King. read the first paragraph, and have read every book since.
"Once upon a time, in a land that was called Britian, these things happened. Bishop Sansum, whom God must bless above all the saints living and dead, says that these memories should be cast into the bottomless pit with all other filth of fallen mankind, for these are the tales of the last days before the great darkness descended on the light of our Lord Jesus Christ. These are the tales of the land we call Lloegyr, which means the Lost Lands, the country that was once ours but which our enemies now call England. These are the tales of Arthur, the Warlord, the King that Never Was, the Enemy of God and, may the living Christ and Bishop Sansum forgive me, the best man I ever knew. How I have wept for Arthur."
The Sharpe series, while good, does get a bit repetative in the later books, and the movies are excellent. The Grail quest books are a great blend of fiction with actual history. That is what His greatest ability as an author is. he does very detailed research, and weaves a story within it. He will even put in an afterword that will tell you what is history and what is story. I can not recommend these too highly.
The Warlord Chronicles are the Arthur books, the latest vikings series is the Saxon Tales.
